The Ancient

This is a sketch I did based on an interesting treeform I saw while on a hike in the hills of San Jose up in Grant Park. The tree was an assembly of twisting roots, branches and moss. I wondered, what would this tree be like if it could move about and speak with me? This old man/tree emerged. I imagine him a wily character with much wisdom and a tendency for mischief.

i love this treefolk. did you see the treefolk from narnia? freakin sweeeet.. i like their take on them.

your tree is cool because it isn't too similar to the ents nor the narnian ones.. hard to pull off. i can hear him speakin

sweet sweet mischief. i like his tentacliness : ). if you want, if the gnome painting doesn't sell, you can buy from me. btw, did jehan tell you we watched Narnia at Magic Johnson Theater? It had a giant cheesy Magic Johnson painting in the main area. And we were scared we were going to be killed in the empty theater.
